NordCham Member Focus – ISS is leading a sustainable future
Danish service provider and NordCham member ISS is fully committed to a sustainable future. With Nordic Governments and corporations leading global sustainability efforts, ISS Group Global CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen hosted an ‘Executive Lunch and Panel Discussion on Sustainability’ to discuss industry best practices and hear from experts in the field.
A well-attended room of over 50 Nordic firms, Nordic diplomats, and ISS clients joined the discussion and lunch at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta. The key takeaway from ISS was that they are seeing requirements for sustainable business practices increase amongst their clientele. This demonstrates the growing recognition of a need for sustainable business operations and enables Nordic firms to take the lead, leveraging their internationally renowned sustainability.
The event also touched on the need for sustainability to be seen as more than just meeting zero-emissions goals, with businesses’ social responsibilities also highlighted. ISS Indonesia CEO Elisa Lumbantoruan discussed the efforts ISS is taking to improve its social sustainability, with a focus on employee welfare.
NordCham is proud to have ISS Indonesia and its 45,000 local employees as a member. With our NordCham Sustainability Committee, the Chamber is working to advance sustainability initiatives across Indonesia with Nordic firms including ISS playing a key role in this success.
NCSC Meeting Post:
Progressing Indonesia’s Sustainable Development with Nordic Knowledge
Continuing their efforts to lead the discussion of sustainable business practices in Indonesia, Nordic firms met at the local offices of H&M Group Indonesia for a meeting of the NordCham Sustainability Committee.
Led by Deputy Chair Anya Saphira (H&M Group), the meeting was well attended by Nordic firms involved in a wide range of industries, from the retail sector to local manufacturing industries. They represented the wide range of sectors that Nordic businesses are involved in across Indonesia, and the importance they place on sustainability.
Members drafted an events schedule for the NCSC in 2023, formalized committee membership, and prepared a course of action for sustainability advocacy. The meeting also presented an opportunity for NCSC members to network and share insights into their approaches to meeting sustainability goals, enabling the sharing of best practices and providing opportunities for collaborative solutions amongst Nordic firms.
The NordCham Sustainability Committee accepts members from across the Nordic business community in Indonesia. Being a member of NordCham is not a requirement to join the committee and we welcome all Nordic businesses in our efforts to lead a sustainable future for Indonesia.
